What do the dots mean?

Each Yoseyomo coin features 24 + 1 spiral lines of dots. Each line represents a single word, and each dot indicates the position of the numbers 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, and 2048 respectively.

Each word of your seed phrase comes from a universal list called BIP39 (composed of 2048 words). From this list, all wallets randomly select 12, 15, 18, or 24 words, depending on the complexity or entropy (security) chosen by the user, to create a new wallet.

Each word is associated with a specific position on that list (in alphabetical order).

For example, if the first word of your seed phrase is "example", you would make marks on the circles numbered: 4, 16, 32, 64, and 512 on your Yoseyomo, because 4 + 16 + 32 + 64 + 512 equals 628, which is exactly the position that word occupies in the BIP39 list.

What is the best method for choosing the numbers I should add?

To obtain the sum for the example (the word "example" with the number 628), you have to manipulate the figures marked on your Yoseyomo (1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048) which, when added together, result in the number of the word you want to engrave on the metal.

To do this, you must follow this method to make the appropriate combinations:

  1. Start by selecting the largest available number that is less than or equal to 628, which is 512. Then subtract the number it gives you: 628 - 512 = 116.
  2. Next, look for the next largest number that is also less than or equal to 116. In this case, it would be 64: 116 - 64 = 52.
  3. Continue selecting numbers from largest to smallest until you reach zero. In this case, we would continue with the number 32 (52 - 32 = 20), then 16 (20 - 16 = 4), and finally 4 (4 - 4 = 0).
  4. This way, you will have used all the necessary numbers so that their sum equals 628.

It's worth noting that with the numbers engraved on your Yoseyomo, you can obtain ALL the numbers (or words) from the BIP39 list.

4 + 16 + 32 + 64 + 512 = 628

The word list is based on the BIP39 standard (which has only 2048 available words).

How do I mark the dots?

As you may have noticed, an automatic punch is included in the box to mark the points of your words in an easy, comfortable and hammerless way.

Important: We recommend that you paint with a pencil or marker pen the dots before using the punch to make sure that each dot is correct before making the marks on your Yoseyomo.

Place the tip of the punch in the corresponding circular hole and press firmly so that the automatic punch does the rest. You will know you have done it right when you hear a "clack". Repeat again as many times as you need to make marks.

What are the stickers for?

Your Yoseyomo includes a pair of tamper-evident stickers so that once you have marked all the words of your seed phrase, you can securely and visually hide them from prying eyes. Place the sticker carefully, as peeling it off will activate the security marks on the coin.

Now all that remains is for you to store your Yoseyomo in a safe place.

Remember that the security of your money is in your hands; we simply provide you with the means to achieve it.
